2026 Winter Football
All change for the 2026 season!
The 2026 season will look a bit different as New Zealand Football's Whole of Football 2.0 plan is being rolled out across the country. Warkworth AFC will take this opportunity to align our offerings and programmes to NZ Football's refreshed structure.Key Changes will include:
- U5 to U7 – Station Rotation skills and drills, small sided games (3v3)
- U8 & U9 – Station Rotation skills and drills, small sided games (5v5), includes goalkeepers, bigger goals, option of In-house or Inter-club football
- U10 to U12 – NRF based competitions, U10 & U11 (7v7), U12 (9v9), Club run skills centre, development and community teams
- U13 – Remains (11v11) this will change to (9v9) in 2027

Key Dates & Pre-Season Information
There will be a staggered start to the 2026 season as follows
Seniors = Saturday 11th April 2026 to 29th August 2026
Junior and Youth Football (U8 to U17) = Saturday 2nd May 2026 to 5th September 2026
Fun Football (U5 to U7) = Friday 1st May 2026 to 4th September 2026
Registrations open 15th January 2026 and close on 15th March 2026 for our Junior, Youth, Girls and Senior teams. Registrations will remain open for our Fun Football (U5 to U7) programmes. All Junior, Youth, Girls and Senior teams will be finalised by end of March 2026.
Please review our grade options in the Winter Football menu to select the appropriate player grade.
Junior, Youth and Senior training dates will commence from the start of April 2026 when we have access to the playing fields at Shoesmith.
Playing shirts will be allocated a unique number as so we can track which shirts have been returned and by who.
Club-selected Adidas black playing shorts and socks are available to purchase via our club shop.

Fun Football (U5 to U7) - $110
Junior Football (U8-U9) - $125
Junior Football (U10 to U12 Grade) - $175
Junior Skills Centre (U10 to U12 Grade) - $100
Youth Football (13th to 17th Grade) - $175
Senior Teams - $175
Payments
All fees are paid through our online registration process.
