Cancellations

First Kicks and Fun Football

First Kicks and Fun Football is held on Saturday mornings at Shoesmith Domain. Cancellations are the responsibility of Warkworth AFC and are reviewed the day prior and again an hour before start time.  We will notify cancellations via our website, Facebook page and club communication app TeamReach. However, this is a rare event...so, be ready to play regardless of the weather, come rain or shine!

Match Day

Northern Region Football (NRF) work with clubs and on the advice of junior, youth and senior club officials as well as referees, gather information on whether to postpone or cancel games.  These are notified via the NRF website and social media channels along with notifying each club to communicate how they see fit.  Warkworth AFC will communicate cancellations on our website and Facebook page along with each team's TeamReach communication app.

Blanket cancellations due to severe weather conditions are made by NRF but are rare. If one is made, Grade Coordinators will be advised to contact their Coaches and Managers to relay to players and parents.  Notifications will also be posted on NRF and Warkworth AFC website and Facebook pages along with notifications via club apps.

Junior / Youth / Senior games cancellations

Following the receipt of weekend ground restriction information from Council on a Friday afternoon, fixtures and changes are confirmed and posted on the NRF website and Social Media channels. Ground closures are generally not made by Council on Saturday mornings, and the responsibility then lies with Warkworth AFC for games at Shoesmith Domain.

On match day, the responsibility sits with the parents/referees/clubs to assess the weather conditions and make a call on player safety.

On the call of the club co-ordinator/coaches/referees, onsite games can be abandoned due to weather conditions or ground playability. If a match is abandoned Warkworth AFC will notify NRF.
